I’m a professional photographer based in Osnabrück (Germany) and member of laif — Agentur für Photos & Reportagen in Cologne. Over the years, I have come to focus my photowork on portrait, feature and industrial issues, working for companies, magazines and NGOs at home and abroad.
My special bond with the African continent began in 2005. On a two month long trip through the Tanzanian Province Kagera and the townships around Durban (South Africa), I portrayed and interviewed more than 50 families, who have lost numerous relatives through the HIV pandemic. From this work resulted an intensive cooperation with different operating NGOs. My work has been recognized and honored at Unicef - Photo of the year, the Mediaprize of German Kindernothilfe and was judged on the shortlist of the Henri Nannen Prize.
